Convert MP3 to a transcript
Choose an MP3 from a recorder, podcast workflow, interview, or voice note. Weeve decodes it on this page, transcribes speech in one of 25 European languages, and adds speaker labels when diarization succeeds.

Compatibility at a glance
Weeve accepts .mp3 files and the audio/mpeg or audio/mp3 MIME types. MP3 is a lossy format, so heavy compression and low bitrates can remove speech detail before transcription starts.

How it works
Four clear steps from local file to reviewed text.
- 01
Select the MP3
Choose an MP3 recording up to 60 minutes long.
- 02
Read the audio
Your browser decodes the compressed audio and prepares a local mono speech track.
- 03
Create the transcript
The downloaded models add words, punctuation, timestamps, and available speaker labels.
- 04
Use the result
Review names and speakers, then copy or export the transcript.

Good sources for MP3 transcription
MP3 is common in handheld recorders, podcast exports, interview archives, lecture recordings, and audio downloaded from other systems.
A clean recording with close microphones and limited background noise gives the speech model more information than a low-bitrate file captured across a room.
How MP3 quality affects the result
MP3 compression permanently removes some audio detail. Speech usually remains clear at sensible bitrates, but repeated re-encoding, clipping, music, and overlapping voices can reduce accuracy.
Weeve does not restore information removed during compression. Use the best available source instead of converting a higher-quality original to a smaller MP3 first.
Troubleshooting an MP3
If the file will not decode, confirm that it is a real MP3 rather than another format with an .mp3 name. Try opening it in the browser or export a fresh copy from the source application.
If speaker labels are incomplete, the word transcript can still finish. You can choose a speaker count from 1 to 8 and run speaker detection again.
Your recording stays here
Recording bytes, decoded audio, transcript text, and speaker names stay on this page. Speech models download from Weeve’s CDN.
A transcript you can review
Timestamps and speaker labels stay editable before export.

Great. I renamed your speaker label, so the exported notes will use your name.
