Voice memos as usable text

Ideas, meeting recaps, and field notes spoken into a phone are hard to search as audio. As text they become something you can scan, quote, and file.

Save or share the memo as a file first. On an iPhone, share it to Files or AirDrop it to your Mac; on a Mac, drag it out of the Voice Memos window. Weeve has no connection to iCloud or the Voice Memos library and only reads the file you select.

What this page adds over the Voice Memos transcript

Voice Memos on iPhone and Mac shows a transcript of its own, as one block of text with no speaker labels. This page separates speakers and keeps word timestamps. It exports as text, Markdown, or PDF, and it works for memos recorded on older devices or in other apps.

Nothing here needs an account. The speech models download once from Weeve’s CDN and the recording itself stays on your device.

What the converted text includes

The draft carries punctuation, capitalization, and word timestamps. Speaker separation adds numbered labels for up to 8 voices, which you can rename before exporting.

Exports are available as plain text, Markdown, and PDF, and they reflect the transcript as you reviewed it.

When an M4A will not convert

Protected files and unusual codec variants can fail to decode even with a supported extension. Export a fresh, unprotected copy from the source app and try again.

Renaming another format to .m4a does not change the codec inside. Convert a copy to WAV or MP3 instead if decoding keeps failing.
