OGG is not one codec

The .oga extension specifically signals audio, while .ogg is also widely used for audio. Weeve validates both.

Common OGG sources

OGG audio can come from open-source recording tools, web applications, game or media production, and voice systems that export Opus or Vorbis.

Use the original export when possible. Re-encoding can add quality loss without making speech clearer.

When OGG compatibility differs

A file may work in one browser but not another because media decoders are platform-specific. Updating the browser or trying another recent supported browser can help.

If necessary, convert a copy to MP3, FLAC, or WAV. A renamed extension alone does not change the codec.
